According to the conference organisers, the Second Open Source Hardware Conference (OSHOP 2025) is now open for global submissions. The conference will be held on 24-25 November 2025 in Chemnitz, Germany, focusing on research progress, collaborative innovation and practical applications in the field of open source hardware (OSH), with the aim of further promoting cross-border exchanges and systematic implementation of open source hardware concepts around the world.
The conference is initiated by the German Open Source Hardware Platform (OSHOP) and is open to submissions from universities, research institutions, open source communities, industrial developers, and technical professionals. According to the conference announcement, the 2025 conference will build on the experience of the first edition and further emphasise the transformation mechanism from ‘technology to standards, from concept to practice,’ promoting the widespread application of open source hardware in sustainable manufacturing, educational technology, scientific research, and other scenarios.

Call for Submissions

Scientific Papers: Research papers focusing on technical issues in open source hardware design, data interfaces, modular systems, and software-hardware collaboration.
Practice-Oriented Workshops: Exchange activities for teaching and practical application, showcasing toolchains, development processes, and standard applications.
System Demonstrations: Including physical demonstrations, prototype systems, development boards, and open source instruments and equipment.
The organisers particularly encourage innovative projects from different disciplines, including but not limited to cross-disciplinary applications in environmental science, sustainable agriculture, medical technology, and educational equipment.
